I decided to enter a Quick Page Contest over at Cool Scrap Digital. It is a pretty neat contest in that you sign up, get a kit for free to play with. I am so excited to be a "Pea" creating for Wyld Peas Designs! I have always loved their kits and can't wait to play with more!!

I'm hoping I just have post-Holiday blues...haven't taken any pictures this year yet LOL

Started back to doing snack bar after school today...really don't enjoy any aspect of running it. We make pretty decent money in an hour but the time & effort it takes to get ready is really no fun!!! Auditions start tomorrow and hopefully end Thursday...really not ready to get into the swing of things with musical but the show must go on LOL! Stage Crew starts Saturday, which should be interesting. Tom has to build a huge castle (we're doing Once Upon A Mattress) sturdy enough for 1/2 the cast to dance on but easy enough to take apart in 2 days after closing...should be a snap...NOT!! Renovations start for our new auditorium so it should be fun and interesting this year! We just hope we get all the things we asked for.
Hope to be back tomorrow with some photos...

New Year's Resolution!

I've decided to make some resolutions this year...the main one being getting back into working on my albums and then adding the LOs to my blog. I have really let both slip over the past six-eight months and I really miss them both! Sooooo...look for more from me in the next year. I'm thinking I'm going to use the blog as a day to day thing in addition to my CT stuff...this way I can be sure to remember all the day-to-day stuff that is going on in our lives and be able to really journal about it on my pages.

I got to work with some great designers last month at Stuff to Scrap...1st up was Jensen Motley Crew Designs and the kit I chose was called Jungle Juice. I love the challenges over a Stuff to Scrap and chose to work on the Scraplift & Color challenges for this kit since they worked out perfectly:

Blog Train!!!

I was recently accepted to Kellybell's CT and I am soooo excited to work with her FABULOUS kits!! Most of them are Disney oriented BUT have so many elements and papers that can be used for many, many themes and layouts!! You can check out her store here on her blog. She isn't affiliated with a store/site, but most of us hang out at Mouse Scrappers, which is where I found her.

ANYWAY....her CT got together and created a blog train to celebrate her new kit Sign Here. It is designed to go with all of those character/autograph photos you might have, Disney or otherwise. The best thing about this kit is that it is mostly black and white so you can color everything yourself to match your photos!!! Here's the LO I made with it followed by the train list.

With so many things going on for us in late March through Mid-May, I have had very little scrapping time. We had our annual musical kick into high gear in March. This year, we did The Wizard of Oz and Austin was the Scarecrow 2 nights and celebrated his 5th year in the program, while Kelsey debuted this year as the Mayor of Munchkin City's wife. They both did such a great job & we are so proud of them. Tom & I had a difficult year as Stage Crew Director & Producer, respectively. There were so many things to take care of & we met up with A LOT of challenges. BUT, it was all worth it in the end!! Here's a LO I did of Austin with Ashley, who played Dorothy on his nights.

In early April, Tom & I went on an "Adults Only" trip to Walt Disney World with another couple. Frank & Greta used to live near us and we hadn't seen them for several years. It was great to see them & we had an awesome time with just us "grown ups" celebrating both of our 15th wedding anniversaries. Here's a photo of the 4 of us in WDW at Disney's Hollywood Studios with Mike & Sulley. I thought I would be sad without the kids, but we had a pretty fun time without them!

I applied for another CT, this time for Manda of NibblesSkribbles. She gave each applicant a kit called At the Park to play with & this is the LO I sent in. Alexa loves mischief and is CONSTANTLY getting into EVERYTHING she possibly can. If it's not nailed down, she will get it & more than likely get something messy!! Here she is sitting on the computer desk with one of Kelsey's makeup brushes

This kit is absolutely adorable and I cannot wait until it is a little nicer so we can go to the park & get some awesome photos to go with it!! I've been having tons of fun playing with some great kits this week! First up is Pretty Cozy by Mad Genius Designs. This kit has great colors and lots of glittery elements. I did 2 LOs with this kit & then the preview follows, which is linked to the store. Check it out!

This 1st layout is using a template by Flower Scraps and was done for the Template Challenge over at STS. You get a great template for free & then you upload it to the gallery for points! At the end of the month, all of your points are totaled and you can earn a FREE gift certificate!!! Awesome, huh? Check out all of the great challenges!

This 2nd LO using Pretty Cozy is over our dining room table for Christmas Dinner. It was the 1st time we've hosted & I really tried to go all out. It turned out to be a pretty small gathering, but we wound up with soooo much food and great company anyway! This LO was done during a Speed Scrap at STS. If you've never done one, you are really missing out!! You get 7 instructions over an hour and then you get another hour to finish & upload your LO to the STS gallery. The other kit I used this week is In the Purple Spotlight by Misty O'Brien. This is a really pretty kit with shades of purple and lavender with swirls, butterflies and a ballet dancer. This LO was done for the Quote Challenge. I thought this photo of my dad dancing on stage during my niece's ballet recital was PERFECT for this quote & the kit. He is so crazy! Check out the Quote Challenge here.

This LO is another Speed Scrap LO. I love the purples with the B&W photo. Really makes for a pretty LO.

Here are some layouts I've made over the past few weeks or so...

This LO uses the kit "Zebralicious" by Just For You Digi Scraps. It is a really cool kit with lots of zebra stripes in several bright colors. This LO is from our Poconos weekend earlier this month. My husband Tom surprised us girls with Winey *itches shirts for the weekend & they matched this kit PERFECTLY!! We never did get a group shot, but I did get pics of most of the gals:) You can get the kit at STS here

This LO is using Winter Wonderland by Red Genius Enterprises. We had 2 snow storms right in a row in the beginning of February, something that doesn't happen on this side of PA. The 1st one was while we were in the Poconos & dumped 28+ inches on us between Friday & Saturday. THEN on Wednesday of the same week, it snowed another 18+ inches. It was crazy! We only got about 2 inches in the Poconos, which was VERY ironic! You can get the kit here at STS

Thanks to an internet friend, Sarah, I found a designer named Sara Ellis. She has such cute kits with LOTS of embellishments. I loved this kit Happy Blue Year because I knew I could use it for Cyndi's field hockey pics and Austin's soccer pics since it is all shades of blue. I am a fan of Sara's on Facebook and she announced she was hosting a speed scrap yesterday, so I ran over & played. This was the LO. Word to the wise...if you play with Sara, follow her intsructions TO THE LETTER! LOL! She doesn't let you deviate AT ALL from her instructions!! Hee hee! The next 3 layouts are from my wedding day. I don't have too many of these photos on my computer since we got married before the digital days, so you may have seen these photos before. I used the kit "The Wedding Collection" the Entire Collection by SGD Designs. This kit is HUGE and includes word art and quick pages, too. This LO is also from a kit by SGD Designs called Mouse Memories. LOTS of Mickey stuff in it!!

Every Thursday, I find myself kicking myself because I forget to do a LO for Britt-ish Designs. She has TONS of kits that can be used for those trips to visit the mouse. You can also use them for any theme, too. What's great is that she makes kits to go for specific parks or rides, so you have the PERFECT elements to go with your photos. Anyway, Britt has a new release almost every Friday and if you send in a LO using ANY of her products(free or purchased) by Midnight Thursday, she sends you one of her new releases FOR FREE!! Sometimes it is something small, like an alpha but sometimes it is a gift cert for her store or a kit!! She also posts everyone's layouts on her blog. I've had the pleasure of working with some great kits over the past week. The first one is a cute kit with lots of great papers and elements good for just about anything you'd need to scrap. I am soooo excited!!! I have been picked to be a CT (Creative Team) member for the Stuff to Scrap Store!!! This is so awesome! I get to work with all the great designers over there each month and create with their beautiful kits!!! It is wonderful!!!

Anyway...this month I start off with FlowerScraps!! I LOVE Deanna's stuff so this was a great kickoff for me! I used her kit "Whimsy Flyte" to create a 2-page LO of my daughter Alexa & her "new" cousin, Toddriq. I say new because they just met since he loves in Illinois & we live in PA...he is my brother Todd's son & is so cute! He has really taken to watching out for Alexa & when we took a day trip to Ocean City, NJ(neither one had seen the ocean before...so cool!!), he kept her under his wing on the boardwalk...I just had to snap about 20 pics!! Anyway, be on the lookout for more pics of Todd & his sons Toddriq & Rashad...be sure to go to the STS store to get this awesome kit, too!!!! New Layouts

Well...I've been pretty busy over the last week or so. Between working 30+ hours when it should only be 20 & 3 soccer games a week for Austin, school during the day with Austin & Kelsey, and TRYING to keep Alexa occupied, I've actually managed to scrap a few pages! One I can't show off until next week, but here are a couple I've done for the new designer I'm CTing for. Her name is Norma & her shop is called Scrapbooks Gone Digital (SGD). She has some really great stuff, including a Disney kit I can't wait to get my hands on!!! Anyway, the kit I worked with this month is called It's a Girl & it is part of a collection that you can get in pieces or all together. The BEST thing about SGD is that you can buy a pass to her "club" and get access to EVERYTHING in the club store for only $25!!!! AND...that membership is good for a WHOLE YEAR!!! Digi-Designs by Nicole has some exciting things in her store at Stuff to Scrap this week! First up is WooHoot. It is an adorable kit with great colors and cute owls! I'm not a big owl person, but these are just adorable!! She also has a template pack in the store called Template Temptation Volume 2. There are SIX awesome templates in this pack and they are so great!! Check out what I've done with both of these great items!

The 1st LO is of Alexa playing with a GIANT cucumber a lady from Tom's work grew in her garden. Alexa LOVE cukes and was just so amazed by this one, as we all were!! It was almost bigger than her! LOL!

This LO is of Alexa after a swim. I LOVED this froggie robe we got from a friend for her baby shower! It is so cute with the frog eyes on top & it has come in very handy this summer after swimming!

This LO is from when we went to Walt Disney World in October, 2007 and we went to Ohana for breakfast. It was so much fun and the food was awesome!! All the characters were dressed in Hawaiian clothes & they had a parade with the kids...tons of fun & great memories!

I used the kit Family Ties by Digi-Designs by Nicole for this layout using one of the templates. This kit is so versatile!!! LOTS of great elements & papers!! This LO shows off my beautiful & wonderful family!! It features one of the only photos of all 5 of my kids since Tommy no longer lives at home and one of the most recent photos of Tom & I, since I HATE photos of me! LOL!

Okay...so I've REALLY been MIA lately. My hard drive completely took a dive and luckily Tom has a friend at work that is working on it. In fact, he is so nice that he put a loaner HD into my computer until the new hard drive comes in...he even put all my files on it! Isn't that awesome?!?!

Anyway, Nicole from Digi-Designs by Nicole has an awesome new kit out for all the cowboys and cowgirls in your life. Bad, Bad me!!

Sorry to have neglected my blog over the past few weeks! The musical is upon us & between run throughs, dress rehearsals and the shows, we have been going non stop!! To top it off, Tom is the Stage Crew director & he didn't get a lot of stage time so we had to wait until the cast was finished before he could work on the finishing touches on the set! What a crazy week that was!! We didn't get home until 10 or 11 at night all week last week and this week!! It has been very trying & tiring, but it was all worth it in the end!!

We're putting on Bye Bye Birdie this year. My oldest daughter, Cyndi is Mrs. Peterson & Austin, my younger son, is Hugo Peabody. They are having such a great time and it is so awesome to see them perform. This is the first year that they are performing on different nights. This is because Cyndi has seniority for her role but Austin doesn't. It's tough on the family, but they are making every effort to come see them both, which is awesome!!

ANYWAY!!! I have neglected my CT duties as well, but luckily I have awesome designers for "bosses" & they've been patient & understanding with me, since I didn't do layouts for them for the past 2 weeks :o(

This week, Digi Designs by Nicole is releasing a collab with Getting Scrappy with Britt and it is called Summer Days. It is a really great kit that will work with so many of my photos!! I chose to use this cute photo of Cyndi with her friend Kevin, who asked her to go to his Junior Prom with him. Of course it was the night before Dress Rehearsal #1 and I had to drive around like a nut to get photos, dinner and drop her off!! Crazy!!

I wish Spring would just come and STAY for a while!! Sheesh! We had such nice weather over the weekend (until the crazy HAIL storm that came through Sunday night!!) and then it got cold again...I am so tired of it! Which is why I was happy to work with Digi-Designs by Nicole's latest kit "Hello Easter" which happens to be a collab kit with Steph over at Scrappy Cocoa. It has such fun bright colors and is great to work with!! Not you typical pastel Easter/Spring kit. Make sure you "hop" over to each blog EVERY day this week so you get all the awesome goodies!!

I've had the pleasure to work with a couple of different kits this week. One of them was an AWESOME grab bag for CW Picket. Her stuff is so nice and this bag is FULL of it!!! There is an entire kit, some alphas (yes, plural) and so much more!! I didn't even use 1 quarter of what was in there...so worth the $5...more, if you ask me. Some of the gals from the DDBN forum got together & decided to make a kit called Fairy Tale Wedding...it really has a pretty color scheme!! Saturday Speed Scrap

Hi, all!! Lots of craziness going on in my house this week! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I will catch up later today. I have a busy weekend, too. I'm taking Cyndi to Millersville University (where I went !!!) for an Open House so she can decide where she wants to go in the fall. Should be fun! I wish I had off from work tonight so we could go up early and not have to get up at 6 am!! UGH! I guess I'll have to come home from work & go right to bed..yeah right! That is impossible for me to do! LOL! I have a demo to go to when I get back and then off to work again on Sunday afternoon. We ussually have my parents over for dinner on Sundays, so it will be crazy all weekend! Hopefully I'll find some time to get on here at some point!

Anyway, I'm hoping to be home from MU in time to go to this Speed Scrap Saturday at 4 pm EST. Click on the flyer to head over to the forum.

WOW!!! Three posts in one day!! LOL! A few weeks ago I tried out for a contest over at ScrapMatters. We had to design a mini kit using a color palette and the kit had to have 3 papers & 3 elements in it. There were 90 participants (I think they said over 100 signed up!!) which was waaaay more than they expected. They cut the group down to 20 after that 1st round & I was cut. I was actually relieved because I don't know what I was thinking..I have no time during the musical! LOL! Anyway...here's my mini kit. Not bad for my 2nd try! You can go to the Gallery at ScrapMatters to get all of the great mini kits, which actually flow pretty well to make one HUGE mega kit! You do have to sign up for the gallery in order to view the entries. Once you're signed in, scroll all the way down until you see Design Star. The mini kits are in week 1 and now they are doing a paper pack...those are really nice too!! I surely don't envy those judges. Click on the preview to get my kit. It will be available for one week.

I love this photo I took at the zoo. I have a thing for frogs & thought this was just too cute!!! Although, the frogs themselves are the cutest LOL!! I used a template by Midnight Scrapping and changed it around a bit so I could get the balance I wanted.

I was so happy to be able to participate in THREE speed scraps so far this week!!! Yes, three!! LOL! I did one yesterday at the Digi-Designs by Nicole Forums & completed this layout Froggy Friends. I used the kit "Froggy Friends" by WimpyChompers at Digital Candy. This was the participation prize for the Speed Scrap I attended on Tuesday afternoon. I was so excited to see it was a froggy kit!! This is my layout from the SS at Digital Candy...I used Amber from Stolen Moments kit "Funky Love" for everything except the stitching is from the next kit by Digi-Designs by Nicole and the tag I recolored from Amber's kit "Big Top". Click on the layout to go to Amber's store at Digital Candy.

She also has some soccer flair on her blog so check it out!! She also has some of the greatest Disney layouts and freebies out there!!! You just have to search through her posts. It is soooo cold here today I can hardly stand it!! We were supposed to get hit with a "MAJOR" snowstorm, but all we got was about 3-5 inches and A LOT of wind & cold!! YUCK!!! I just wanted to stay in bed all day!! Luckily the school district was closed, so Kelsey & Austin didn't have music lessons & Austin & Cyndi didn't have Musical practice so I didn't have to go ANYWHERE!! WHEW! Tom did have to take Cyndi to work later & pick her up, but I got to stay inside all nice & warm :)

Here it is Monday already (actually almost Tuesday LOL!) and I haven't posted my LO for this week's kit! Sorry!! This week, Digi-Designs by Nicole has released Best Friends ~ A kit for dogs but it really has a lot of papers & embellishments for those of us without dogs!! It really is a great kit with great colors!! Here is my LO using Alexa with my Mom's dog, Luke. He is so cute!!! Alexa doesn't really like him too much...he is a little hyper & LOVES to lick her face & just doesn't want to have any part of it! She does "pat" him though (more like hit!!), so she is getting a little used to him...he loves to be held & is such a baby!

Speed Scrap Layout

Here's my layout from the Speed Scrap last night...boy was it tough!! (For me, anyway!!) Here are the instructions:

1. CHOOSE 2 PAPERS THAT ARE THE SAME COLOR AND STACK THEM ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. PATTERNS ARE FINE, AS LONG AS THEY ARE WITHIN THE SAME COLOR FAMILY.

2. CHOOSE 1 PHOTO, ALTER THE COLOR TO MAKE IT “MATCH” YOUR PAPERS SOMEWHAT, AND FRAME IT IN A CIRCLE WITH BLACK, WHITE OR BOTH.

3. MAKE A CLUSTER HOWEVER YOU LIKE. TRY TO INCLUDE SOME OF THE FOLLOWING: BUTTONS, RIBBONS, HEARTS, FLOWERS, LEAVES. THERE’S JUST ONE CATCH: FIND THE COLOR – OR THE CLOSEST MATCH – OF YOUR PAPERS ON THIS COLOR WHEEL. They are pictured with one of the directors, who happens to be the director from when my sister & I were involved YEARS ago as well as our teacher in 12th grade!! How things come full circle!! Here is the layout I did for Digi-Designs by Nicole's newest kit "Fresh". As I mentioned before, it is a collab kit with Stolen Moments. Go to each blog every day to receive some awesome pieces!! Wow! What a busy weekend we've had!! I worked Saturday & Sunday...not fun at all!! We have been so busy! I keep asking, "what recession???" People just seem to spend money like there's no tomorrow!! Today, a woman purchased $444 worth of Easter "china"...plates, mugs, bowls, serving platters, etc. WOW! How crazy!!

We went to dinner with friends last night...Tom, Alexa & I, that is! It was nice to get together since we haven't done it in such a long time!! We went to Hibachi, which is a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you. So cool! We had a really great time! Tom took Kelsey, Austin & Alexa to Chuck E. Cheese's for a BD party...so sorry I had to work LOL! I really just don't like the noise & the 400 kids running & screaming like lunatics!! Not my idea of a fun time. Tom said the kids had fun, though & Alexa really enjoyed watching all the kids running around. Did he bring the camera like I asked???? NOOOOOOOO!! Next time I need to just put it in the diaper bag like I wanted to!! After I finished work, we went to Lonestar Steakhouse for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday, as well as Kelsey & Austin's. Did Tom bring the camera this time ??? NOPE!!! GRRRRR! This is so typical!! I have been taking "everyday" shots for project 365, but I have NO special occasion shots, if they've happened outside of this house!! Crazy!!!

Anyway...if you have a Lonestar near you, sign up for their E Club...they send you a coupon for a free appetizer when you sign up & then they send you another coupon for a free entree for your birthday (up to $15!!!). They are pretty quick about it, too...I signed up the day before my BD & got it within an hour!!! Cool gift & yummy food!!! 11 of us ate for $113 before the tip!! We had 2 appetizers & 2 ice creams, too!! Pretty awesome!!

I was cut from the Pretty Scrappy Race today :o( That's ok, though, since I don't think I really had time to be on that team right now. I did have fun, but I REALLY love the kit they are working with this week. I'm not sure if I liked how they had us in 2 groups using different kits...didn't really seem like a level playing field, but whatever. Anyway, here are some layouts I've done over the past few weeks or so.

Just wanted to post my latest submission to the Quick Page Team Challenge going on at Pretty Scrappy. I've made it to week 3 & would love to go onto the final week!! I had a little bit of trouble with a creativity block for this week's challenge. I'm not sure why!! I think it turned out okay...take a look at the great entries!! It is going to be tough!! They are cutting the group in 1/2 this week, so only 10 people will go on. I created a desktop just for a little change of pace. I have been slacking in posting this past week!! Sorry!! Digi-Designs by Nicole has lots of great stuff happening!!! She's released her first kit that was released only in her store. It's called Sweet Love and is available for $2.50 this week!!! It is such a great kit and can be used for much more than for love & Valentine's Day LOs. Here is my layout and below that is the preview of the kit. Click on the kit to go to the store!!

Just for the record...YES! That's my dad!! He is the greatest, yet GOOFIEST, dad in the world!! Somehow he & my mom roped my husband and my brother-in-law to also dress up in this crazy outfit!!! They gave my sister & I an 8x10 of them for Valentine's Day a few years ago!! Too funny!!

Nicole has also released a new freebie kit this week (boy is she busy!!!) It's another collab kit, this time with Vicki from A Work in Progress and it is called Sweet Flora. Lastly, I hosted my first ever speed scrap last week! It was actually a lot of fun & the participants made some AWESOME layouts from my instructions. I used Just for You Digi Scraps kit "Heart Attack" for my layout. I've put the instructions below the layout.
#1 Choose an odd number of photos. If you do more than 1, make 1 of them larger than the others.
#2 Pick out an even number of papers. only ONE may be a print!!! (textures as long as they aren't really patterned can count as a solid!)
#3 Alter 1 photo in some way. You can remove the color(make it B&W, sepia, etc), extract, recolor, use an action...anything you want.
#4 Frame 1 photo in some way. You can use a frame, ribbon, paper, buttons...get creative if you'd like!!
#5 OK...I know it's early, but you need some math skills LOL! Divide the # of papers by 2 and you must use 2 each of at least 2 elements. For example, I used 4 papers, so I used 2 paper strips, 2 glitter swirls & 2 pins. Clear as mud?!?!
#6 Title your page using one word and one word only!!! It can be a word art, font or alpha.
#7 Date and journal if you would like. Extra Challenge~do something creative with the date

Hello,

I hope today finds you well. It is VERY windy here today...not too cold, just crazy windy!! I've been working on some layouts that I will share in the next few days. I am hosting the speed scrap over at Digi-Designs by Nicole Forum tomorrow. See the post below for details.

Speed Scrap and a new Layout

I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone and join a Quick Page Exchange/Challenge contest. The voting starts later today. You can also download all of the contestants' quick pages. There are 2 different kits, so you will see 2 different themes. You could do 1 12x12, 2 brag book size or a hybrid craft. I chose to do the 12x12 since that's what I use. Here is my page.
